What level of difficulty are your kits?
Our kits are made for people who understand the basics of crochet or knitting. Please make sure you understand the stitches and can read the pattern before you start your kit. We advise you to practice on a spare piece of yarn.
Do I need my own crochet hook or knitting needles?
Yes, Hardicraft kits don’t include a crochet hook or knitting needles. You favourite hook or needles will work great! Please be sure to check the recommended size in the pattern before you begin.
What is included in each kit?
Every kit comes with the yarn, filling, multi-lingual pattern and any haberdashery you need like safety eyes, snap hooks etc. Hardicraft kits don’t come with a crochet hook or knitting needle. The pattern booklet is in English, Dutch, French, German and Spanish. Our kits also include a little card which brings you to the online version of the pattern in even more languages!
Are Hardicraft kits AI?
Hardicraft has never and will never use Artificial Intelligence to generate pictures or videos of our kits. All visuals that are made by Hardicraft of our kits are created by our team at our offices. Hardicraft patterns are written by real people and tested by real people. Hardicraft patterns have never and will never be written by AI.
Why is there no crochet hook in my Hardicraft kit?
The choice of crochet hook or knitting needle can be very personal. We prefer for our customers to use their favourite brands so that we can keep the price of our kits as low as possible and create less waste.
Why are there no knitting needles in my Hardicraft kit?
The choice of knitting needle can be very personal. We prefer for our customers to use their favourite brands so that we can keep the price of our kits as low as possible and create less waste.
What is the yarn used in your kits made of?
Hardicraft is proud to use its own brand of yarn in the kits. Our cotton yarn is made of 100% organic cotton, while our Marbled yarn is made of 78% organic cotton and 22% acrylic yarn. Both Hardicraft yarns are Oeko-Tex certified. Would you like to see the Oeko-Tex certificate? Please email us at info@hardicraft.com.
Can I purchase extra yarn?
No, we currently don’t sell our yarn separately.
Can I buy a pattern by itself?
The pattern is part of the kit and not available separately. Have you lost your pattern? Please email a photo of your kit (including the label) to info@hardicraft.com.

Do you have video tutorials?
There are a few Hardicraft tutorials regarding techniques, to be found on our YouTube page: Hardicraft. Hardicraft kits don’t come with step-by-step video instructions.
What size crochet hook/knitting needle do I need?
All of our knitting kits are made with a 2.5 mm / UK 12 / US/CAN 1,5 knitting needle. Our crochet kits are made with varying sizes. The needed crochet hooks are either 2.5 mm / US 12 / UK/CAN B/I or EU 3,0 mm / UK 11 / US/CAN C/2. You can always find which hook or needle to use at the beginning of your pattern and on the back of the label of your kit.
I can’t find the right size crochet hook or knitting needle. What do I do?
If you are unable to find the recommended size we advise you to choose the next smallest size. This way you are assured to still have enough yarn. If you size up you will use more yarn and your finished product will come out bigger than intended.
Do I need to make a gauge swatch?
We don’t recommend making a gauge swatch. Because this is not a piece of clothing it is less important. If you know that you tend to knit or crochet looser, we recommend sizing down your needle or hook. This assures you will have enough yarn and that the filling won’t be visible through your stitches.
What languages are your patterns written in?
All Hardicraft kits come with a paper pattern booklet with the pattern in English, French, Dutch, German and Spanish. We also offer our patterns online where there are even more languages available. The languages and translated patterns are growing every day! We currently offer our patterns online in English, French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Czech, Swedish, Italian, Finnish and Norwegian.
